Time to ditch your annoying old faucet!
What is the worst part of having an old kitchen faucet? My guess is that you won’t have very much trouble answering this question. It may be that a perpetual dripping sound is driving you around the bend, or it could be that the old faucet is rusty and impossible to keep clean and stain-free.
Maybe it takes you forever to fill your pots with water because there isn’t as much flow and pressure as there should be. Or maybe it just looks terrible.
So clearly there isn’t just one annoying problem with old kitchen faucets, but quite a number. The problem is that so many things can go wrong with a faucet, and depending how old the faucet in your kitchen is, you may have any or all of these problems.
Lack of features in old faucets can get you down, too. If you’ve just moved to a new house, you may not have thought much about what your faucet can do until you had to use an outdated one that seems to have been installed half a century ago. It gives you either hot or cold running water, and you can use it to fill pans or the sink, and that’s about it.
The good news is that you don’t have to keep putting up with your old faucet. Why not take a look at the Kraus KPF-2110 single lever pull-out kitchen faucet? You may never have heard of the Kraus brand before, because they’re not very well known. However, I decided to review this faucet on this site because I find it to be among the most convenient and most attractive kitchen faucets on the market.
Here are some of the reasons I like this product so much.
Firstly, this kitchen faucet is constructed from 100 percent solid stainless steel. If you’re currently dealing with rust, you won’t have to worry about that with this model. The stainless steel on this faucet won’t discolor or corrode, so it’ll look just like new each time it’s cleaned.
The faucet has two flow settings: spray and normal. There is a 28-inch braided nylon spray hose you can pull out. To use it, just push a rubber button found on the upper side of the spout, and press this same button again to return the hose to its resting position when you’re finished using it. Just remember that you’ll need to press the button again to use the faucet normally.
Some people have commented that the spray hose is a bit heavy. The good news is that this hose is heavy because it is durable, but you should be careful using it when you have fragile dishes in your sink. Another point to be aware of is that the rate of flow may be fine for using the faucet normally, but too high when you use the spray. Remember to turn down the flow before switching to spray, and you’ll avoid getting soaked and having puddles all over your kitchen.
As you can tell from the name, this faucet operates with one single lever. The spout features a full 180 degrees of swivel, making it very convenient to use. One of the best features of this model is its drip free sedal ceramic cartridge, ensuring that the faucet will have a long leak-free life!
Style is a big priority for many people, which I think is understandable. As I mentioned above, the faucet is made of stainless steel, giving it a neutral color that will work with any style of kitchen décor. It has a modern, sleek silhouette that looks great in any home.
Some Final Thoughts
I have one small quibble with this model, and it has to do with the installation process. The manual uses pictures only (no words) which can be confusing. The good news is that everything you’ll need for installation is inside the box, and all the little parts come safely packaged into small felt bags.
The manufacturer offers a lifetime limited warranty, and this model has been given many certificates – far too many to list here! To get more information about this kitchen faucet, take a look at it on Amazon. Recently I saw that it was even available with gift wrapping!
