A Simple, Long-Lasting Faucet for your Kitchen
During my school days, my teachers used to report that though I was smart, I spent much too much time talking during class. No wonder I grew up to become a salesman. I’m always happiest when I get to talk to people about a great product, especially if they go home with a purchase that will do exactly what they want.
My biggest area of knowledge is all of the fixtures, appliances and everything else that makes up a kitchen. Sometimes I’m responsible for organizing everything that’s required to do a major kitchen renovation, and sometimes I’m just selling individual fixtures. Recently I decided to put together some of what I know about kitchen faucets and pass the information along.
The reason I wanted to talk about faucets is because they aren’t a big ticket item and most people can install most models themselves without calling in a plumber. I also feel that faucets are a bit overlooked when people are looking at kitchen fixtures. But think about it: what good is a kitchen sink without a faucet?
I’ve reviewed quite a few different faucets on this site, and covered all of the different types. Now I’d like to talk about the G133-10SS from Pfister, a single-handled faucet featuring a pull-out spray wand.
So, here’s what I think you should know about this model:
Design
No matter who I’m dealing with, male or female, everyone’s first thought is to find a faucet that looks great. This model won’t disappoint you in this regard. Although it doesn’t have any fancy bells and whistles, it adds a sense of style to any kitchen sink once you install it.
One thing I like about this model is that it offers lots of color choices besides the usual stainless steel. You can get this faucet in stainless steel of course, but it’s also available in pure white, polished chrome and a really classy Tuscan Bronze finish too.
Functionality
Once you’ve found a faucet that looks good, you’re probably going to want to know how it performs. Once again, you won’t be disappointed with this one. This one-handled model has a spout that swivels a full 360 degrees, making it very versatile. Whether you’re right or left handed, you’ll have no problem using this faucet.
The pull-out spray feature is great for cleaning your sink more easily than with a standard spout, as well as for rinsing produce and filling tall containers. Just be aware that the braided hose may get some kinks if you’re not careful with it.
Other Things to Consider
The manufacturer has designed this faucet to meet ADA criteria, and the ceramic disc valve means that you won’t have to worry about leaking. Installation is pretty straightforward if you follow the directions included by the manufacturer. If you’re really not handy with home repairs, and don’t know a screwdriver from a wrench, it might be better to get a plumber to install it for you.
Overall
In my opinion, this is a reasonably priced faucet that looks great without dominating your kitchen décor. It’s backed up with a lifetime warrantee, so you know that it’s built to stand the test of time.
