Moen is often considered the favorite brand of professionals, and in the 7594SRS they’ve produced a masterpiece yet again. As a part of the Arbor line by Moen, this specific model features fluid lines and curves, and a design that brings all its parts together in a cohesive whole. The one-handled lever design makes it easy to use, and the pull-down spray head features a docking mechanism that holds the head firmly in position. A reflex system allows the hose to extend and retract quickly. You can use the toggle switch to choose between spray and aerated flow modes. The stainless steel construction is topped by your choice of five different finishes, each of which is low-maintenance and works beautifully with this design. With dimensions of 24.8 inches by 12.2 inches, this kitchen faucet combines simplicity and perfection.
Functionality: 5 stars (out of 5)
It’s a bit unusual to get this enthusiastic about kitchen faucets, but as soon as I first saw this Moen faucet, I was pretty excited about it! The installation instructions were easy to understand and the installation process itself was simple, so replacing my existing faucet with this one was a breeze. Still, I’d advise you to have someone around to help you with the installation, because it’s much easier if somebody holds the faucet while you tighten its restraining nut. The counterweight on the pull-down feature is effective, as is the reduced-pressure spray and aerated mode that cuts down on splashing. A particularly nice feature is the fact that you can situate the handle wherever you want it – left, right or even center.
Pros:
- “Anywhere” handle
- No spattering and splashing
- Attractive design
- Easy maintenance
- Long warranty
Cons:
- 2 people needed to install
- Slightly low spray pressure
- Sometimes the counterweight hits against the plumbing
Style: 5 stars
Without a doubt this Arbor faucet from Moen is incredibly stylish and chic. I was at first drawn to the brushed stainless finish, but afterwards changed my mind and went with the chrome instead because I thought it would coordinate better with my shiny sink. I’m happy with my choice, and unlike some vibrant chromes, this faucet doesn’t look artificially shiny. The stainless steel inner construction is solid and sturdy. The chrome of the finish is shiny in some areas and has a natural matte look in other areas. The spray wand is so seamlessly integrated with the spout that it’s hard to see the line between the two parts at a glance.
Durability: 4 stars
The stainless steel lends solidity to the construction, and all of the components (including nozzle and counterweight) are also made of steel. For this reason the faucet will last a long time without damage. One problem I’ve experience is that sometimes the counterweight gets caught amongst the plumbing lines underneath my sink. This doesn’t seem likely to do any serious damage, but I wish that the counterweight had a bit of a simpler design to avoid this annoyance. The faucet finish doesn’t show fingerprints or water spots and never gets stained. This model is built to last you a lifetime, and many other reviewers have noted this. Some reviewers say that they’ve had this faucet for more than 5 years without any problems.
Extras: 5 stars
This model keeps it simple and doesn’t offer anything other than the usual features of a kitchen faucet with a pull-down spray. To me, this simplicity is one of its selling points. It’s unlikely that anything will go wrong when the function and technology are so simple. The toggle switch and full stainless steel construction combine to make this faucet simple to maintain and use.
Repair and Warranty: 5 stars
It’s hard to find information about this on the Internet, but this model is covered by a lifetime limited warranty. Any new parts that you may need will be shipped to you at no charge by Moen. The customer service department is responsive and will deal with any issues in a timely manner. You can contact them by mail or by using the toll-free phone number.
Our Rating Overall: 4.6 stars
In Europe, Moen has made a name for itself and now that name is becoming more known in the US too. Because it is still in the process of finding its US market, you may be able to get a great faucet for a lower price than with some of the top American brands. This model is a good example of why Moen is becoming popular in America. The faucet has much to recommend it, and you would have to be quite the perfectionist to criticize it. I plan to stay with this faucet in my second kitchen as I check out others models.
